FIVE FOUNDATION PILLARS FOR THE REFORMATION OF THE CHURCH
Written by: Jim Hodges, President of Federation of Ministers & Churches International (FMCI)

Today many are sensing that things are deficient and out of order in the Church of the 21st century, especially in the American Church. Dutch Sheets points out that in his grandfather’s generation, 65% of them were born again and active in their faith. In his father’s generation it went down to 35%. Then in his generation, it drops down to 15%. The most alarming statistic is that we are told today’s generation--the youth of our nation--is probably around 4% that call themselves true followers of Christ. When you add these sad statistics to the recent scandals among the leadership of churches and ministries which, by the way, have so diminished our credibility that it will take years to restore, you can’t help but cry out for change! The Church desperately needs revival and beyond revival, we need a massive reformation. The Church must change! We have identified five Foundation Pillars For The Reformation Of The Church that must be erected in the lives of true believers before we can come into true reformation: (1) A Biblical Revelation of the Kingdom of God and The Dominion Mandate; (2) An Understanding of the Call to rule the 7 Mountains of Culture; (3) The Functioning of the Five-Fold Ministry Gifts of Christ including their connection to Civil Government; (4) Transgenerational Connection and Partnership in Ministry; and (5) Adopting a Victorious Eschatology. Once these pillars are set in place, we can move forward into the task of transforming our nation! Do we have a formidable task in front of us? Yes, but I remind us of a statement made by the Irish statesman, Edmund Burke: "No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Our little is much if God is in it.

AWAKEN AND ALIGN REFORMATION GATHERINGS
(The vehicle for FMCI to do its part in the Reformation Task)

Let me give you an overview of these exciting gatherings in 2009. We are going to train in these five pillars referred to above. One of us will teach and train on one of the topics, and then another will respond for 15 minutes. After that, both the trainer and the responder will lead a discussion of the entire attendees. The two evenings will be ‘Hosting His Presence’ worship, intercession, and prophecy. We encourage all FMCI members to invite and bring non-FMCI people. AARG is for ministers, intercessors, marketplace people, youth, worship leaders---everyone! We will discount your registration if you bring someone with you. This will take place at the registration table. Meanwhile, you can register online at our web site at www.fmci.org. For those FMCI members who want to come in a day early (Wednesday) I will be there to meet with you, have lunch and dinner, drink coffee, pray for each other, etc).

Six AARGs are scheduled this year with several more pending. Check web site for schedule and hotels. Each AARG will officially begin on a Thursday night at 7pm and conclude by noon on Saturday.

In trying times it is important that we align - or realign - our words (both spoken and written), our thoughts, and our beliefs to line up with the Word of God. When things gets tough we must guard our hearts from agreeing with anything that is contrary to what God has spoken in His Word and prophetically. This article provides some solid Biblical truths to help us align with God during trying times.
The Lord is rekindling an awakening of the Spirit of Intercession in the Body through the telling of the old, old stories of His displaying the love, mercy, grace and power of Christ throughout the ages. We have entered into a season to "recover" all that has been lost, stolen, or left behind in our families, communities and nations. It is time for a fresh fire to burn within the people of God today with a passionate desperation for the promises of the Lord to come forth in power. Read, rehearse, pray, and share the stories of old believing that our God will yet do it again in our day.
The Lord began to speak about His weaving of a tapestry in these days that will reveal the Glory of the Lord as we come together from various streams in humility to seek His face and do His will. The tapestry He is weaving is glorious. . .
